2017, 2018, 2019, 2020: Encounters Film Festival curation, VR cinema and VR headset click ‘n’ collect service

;

Limina have been working with Encounters Festival for four years, supporting the UK’s leading short film festival through both VR curation and full delivery of a 5-day VR cinema for the public. The goal of the VR strand of the festival has always been to both introduce immersive arts to the public and foster a creative community of makers around the field of VR film.

We have worked closely with leading VR/AR developers Zubr, partnering to make a VR sync app for audiences, welcoming them into a soothing environment with maximum attention to duty of care.

In 2020, due to Covid-19 restrictions, we adjusted the format into a VR headset ‘click ‘n’ collect’ service. The preloaded headsets featured an award-winning programme of virtual reality film content for audiences to experience at home.

“Working with Limina has always been easy, insightful and mutually beneficial. They are a delight to work with” – Rich Warren, Director, Encounters Film Festival.
