If you are a freelancer or cultural organisation in the Greater Birmingham and Solihull area you can book free digital support sessions with a friendly digital expert. Specialisms include email marketing, social media, digital strategy, immersive media, e-commerce and more. Open to arts, culture and craft organisations in the Greater Birmingham and Solihull region with less than 50 employees.
Digital Welcome offers arts, culture and craft organisations and freelancers free tailored support with digital projects in the wake of Covid-19. We want to offer the cultural sector crucial digital skills and insight to help with recovery as we emerge from Covid-19 restrictions.
Funded by the Greater Birmingham and Solihull Local Enterprise Partnership, we are offering bookable 1:1 video call clinic sessions with digital experts. Sessions will be focussed on a particular challenge, question or idea to explore that is submitted in advance. Sessions will take place throughout June 2021 which you can advance book during a welcome chat.
Expert support is free to freelancers and cultural organisations with less than 50 employees in the Greater Birmingham and Solihull region who have been negatively affected by Covid-19.
The areas this programme supports are Birmingham, Solihull, Cannock Chase, East Staffordshire, Lichfield, Tamworth, Bromsgrove, Redditch and Wyre Forest.

Sam has over 12 years of experience in digital marketing and ecommerce, having worked both client and agency side across a range of organisations from start-ups to FTSE 100 businesses. Having previously built successful agency teams, as well as leading creative and web projects, Sam has honed his experience across a broad spectrum of marketing channels and technologies. Passionate about the power and transparency of digital marketing, Sam is currently Head of Marketing at an international travel company.
Elizabeth Khorrami
B2B digital sales expert
Elizabeth is a business development specialist with a focus on creative emerging technology. Elizabeth completed a Masters in Business Administration at UWE Bristol. Prior to moving to the UK, Elizabeth worked in business development for 4 years for one of the U.S.’s largest cinema chains, Cinemark Theatres, where she helped launch The VOID’s first location in the central region of the United States.
David Butlin

David is an award winning eCommerce and digital marketing expert specialising in eCommerce systems and software, earned and paid promotion and growth strategies. David has produced and managed three top-10 Sunday Times Fast Track brands and delivered bottom-line results in start up businesses, SMEs and PLCs. David is currently Head of e-Commerce at UK Flooring Direct.
Emma Hughes
Immersive media and digital strategy expert
Emma Hughes specialises in immersive experience making. As an advocate of the arts and outdoors for health and wellbeing, she places community at the heart of her practice, facilitating creative expression and engagement with the natural world through making and producing work that is playful, accessible and innovative in its use of emerging technology. As researcher and curator for Limina Immersive, she has produced and curated sell-out VR events, as well as managing the set up of the UK’s first dedicated arts VR theatre.
Joe Bell

Joe is a Digital Producer with a particular interest in the arts & culture sector. He has produced a range of innovative and award-winning digital projects, many during 7 years spent at the BBC. As an associate for The Space he has supported over 60 arts & heritage organisations develop and produce digital projects, and with his company Sideburn Panda has worked on the ‘Global Values: Where Do You Fit?’ Quiz for BBC Tomorrow’s World, the Dan Snow-fronted ‘Passchendaele 100’ campaign for the Royal British Legion and most recently led development of in-gallery digital content for the ambitious redevelopment of Nottingham Castle.

A dedicated marketing professional with over 6 years’ experience of managing multi-channel marketing campaigns from ideation to implementation. Passionate about delivering great digital experiences, Beth is accomplished in increasing the efficiency of campaigns through a test-and-learn approach. Beth is a paid media and email marketing specialist who takes joy in the upskilling and development of others in all things digital. She is currently Campaign Marketing Manager for a FTSE 250 student accommodation provider.
